Getting Ready for the Party

Posted on September 25th, 2011 by Richard. Categories: Community Feature.

Have you noticed that a lot of the long-term projects and maintenance items around town we’ve seen in-progress for what seems like forever are either done or nearing completion? Being the host city for the Superbowl this year may have quite a bit to do with it, but so what, we’ll take it. You’ve got to look good at your own party. Only 133 days to go.

Mini Park

Photo taken in the small one lot-sized park in the Old Northside neighborhood. Very tranquil setting with trees, flowers, bushes, a gazebo and and several areas to sit with benches. At one time years ago, this was open to vehicle traffic from Michigan Road but closed in favor of the new expanded east entrance farther south. It used to be my favorite way to enter…the back-way, scenic route. Now it only gets a little foot traffic from hikers, pedestrians, and some museum

Cool Destination

Outside temps have been a challenge lately for those that don’t like hot weather, creating a reverse version of wintertime cabin fever…staying inside with the air-conditioning cranked up instead. One place to stay cool but get also get a good stretch of the legs and your imagination is the Children’s Museum. No matter how old you are, it’s guaranteed the child in you will emerge when you visit.
