Nature gave us a spectacular visual effect today as all of us woke up to find a surprising layer of white powder covering everything outside this morning. The first snowfall of this winter season. I guess I’m still a child at heart as I was just thrilled to see it…and still now when I look outside. I had an early appointment which got me out and about. That’s when I stopped breifly to take this photo in the Fishers area…a view of the woods with Mud Creek meandering through.
From my experience, this view is similar to scenes in thousands of other spots in Indiana today. When some people think of Indiana, especially non-Hoosiers, they visualize cornfields and more cornfields…which is probably all they see from the window of their car as they cruise along major highways. When I think of Indiana, I visualize woodlands, small rivers and creeks, parks and beautiful natural areas just like this. The only thing missing from the vision and this photo is a pair of bright red Cardinals on one of the branches. But there is always next time.
