It’s safe to say that a large percentage of Indy area residents are basketball fans in general. It goes with the territory…just being a Hoosier. I believe it’s a state law that each citizen must have a basketball goal on their property and shoot 100 free throws per day? And even though many people from Indianapolis did not attend hometown Butler University, it’s hard now, especially after last years run, not to be a Bulldog fan. It’s more than rooting for Butler just because they are a local team. A large part of their appeal is the David vs Goliath aspect…the small school going up against mammoth state-run college basketball programs. Another part is their home court is the legendary Hinkle Fieldhouse, immortalized in the movie Hoosiers, the basketball God’s cathedral. Surely any team that calls that building home is blessed. You’d think the Bulldogs could not possibly go unnoticed on everyone’s radar screens after last year, so sneaking up on teams in this years tournament will be impossible. So that means that any victories and the team itself are for real.
Their run at the title continues again in a couple days, on Thursday night at 9:55 when Butler meets Wisconsin. We’ll be watching.

This isn’t a post about real estate where we “talk house”, this is about a house that actually talks. Its not haunted or inhabited by spirits either. It’s a real feeling that emanates from it so strongly that the thought-wave received is like a voice that speaks to something within you. When someone begins the buying process to look for a home, after a while they develop a clear vision of what they are looking for. It usually happens after a buyer encounters a number of homes that aren’t right for one reason or another. An important feature or two on their wish list that they must have is missing, or maybe something they absolutely do not want is there instead. The market tests you to see what you would be willing to take. It tests you to see if you are patient or focused enough to stick to your guns, to your vision of the home you want, or will you settle for less? So I always think the right thing is to be patient, keep looking. The perfect one is going to be there when the time is right.

A look back at last months residential market activity shows a market finding it’s balance with the economic conditions. Without external government stimulus money influencing activity as there was in 2010 at this time, the number of sales are less than this same period last year, but still solid, with more than 1,400 homes sold overall last month in the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area. Even though the number of sales were less, the average sales price showed gains in a number of counties.
