If you want to ‘wish upon a star’ your dream can come true here. Actually, at Holcomb Observatory you can really get up and personal with all the stars in the galaxy. Most of the time, the building is used by Butler University in the teaching of astronomy and astrophysics. But amazingly, on certain dates, the facility is actually available to the public to enjoy. There’s a performance in the evening in the Planetarium, which opens your mind up to the solar system…and afterwards, you can take a look through the large reflector telescope.
Now how cool is that? It would seem like there would be lines out the door every night if this were well known. I guess the secret is safe with me though. I’m not going to tell anyone.
